Asha & Brad: Lexington, KY Engagement Photography

Asha is pure sunshine; sweet, giggly, and full of laughter. Brad is the nicest southern laid back guy-so cute together with Asha. They are one of those couples that react so fluidly, so well to each other you just know they were meant to be together.

I had Asha share about how they met and how Brad proposed. Here are her words:

How they met:

I officially met Brad about two weeks after joining Ashland Avenue Baptist Church. Over the next year or so I saw him at church from time to time, but I did not really get to know him until we both spent part of our summer in the Andes Mountains of Peru. I enjoyed his sense of humor and grew to respect his love for the Lord and passion for the gospel (even if we did tease him a lot for his attempts at speaking Spanish with a Eastern Kentucky accent!) About a week later Brad left to return home and I stayed in Peru for the rest of the summer. After he left, the other members of my missionary team began teasing me about setting me up with Brad upon my return home, and proceeded to threaten to do just that all summer long.

When I did return home at the end of the summer I went back to life as usual. Little did I know that Brad was planning to ask me out the whole time. One Sunday afternoon after church he pulled me aside and asked if I would like to go out on a date with him. Later that week we went on our first date (much to the delight of my summer missionary team members).

How he proposed:

The Saturday before Valentine’s day we had planned on driving to
Louisville to visit my brother. Brad came to pick me up around ten that
morning. He said that he had forgotten something that he needed to pick
up at the church before we left. We pulled up to the church and I said I
would wait in the car, but he wouldn’t let me. He pretty much had to
trick me into getting out of the car and walking up to the church with
him. :)
He took me up the front door of the church (it was a FREEZING cold
February day) and then said that he didn’t really need to pick anything
up from the church after all. He pointed up the the words written over
the awning “For the Supremacy of Christ in All Things,” saying that he
thought those were appropriate words to propose under because that was
what we wanted our marriage to be about. Then he asked me to marry him,
I said yes, and we shared our first kiss. (Then we ran back to his truck
because it was so cold!) He’s a super guy, and I can’t wait to marry him. :)

a little love in the country

I can’t wait to photograph your wedding in July!!
