Tasha & Tyler: Lexington, KY Engagement Photography

If a neighborhood dog grabbed your coat and drug it miles away during your photography session, would you fire me? Strange things like that can only happen to me but it does make for a good memory! I’m so glad that Tasha and Tyler are light hearted b/c that’s exactly what happened when we were taking their engagement photographs. Tyler was such a good sport as he chased the dog to get his coat. Good thing, he admitted, he needed a new coat anyway. Yikes…I’m still a little embarrassed but laughing just the same. These two are set to be married in May. There couldn’t be a couple crazier about each other. You can just tell they’re best good pals:)

I asked Tasha for some words on how they met/ how Tyler proposed:

Here is our story five years is kinda hard to condense, but here it goes:
Tyler and I met in the Fall of 2005 after we both got hired on at Target for seasonal employment. We had both sent out a ton of applications and Target was the first place to call us back.  I was a senior in high school and he was a junior at the time. Although, we were both instantly flirtatious with each other, we were dating other people at the time. In fact, it wasn’t until winter 2007, that we were both unattached and I had the courage to ask him out. We went on our first date right before Valentine’s Day and we have been inseparable ever since. I was Tyler’s date to his senior prom and in the Fall 2007 he joined me at Transylvania University.

On November 11, 2010 Tyler proposed to me. I was supposed to work late that night, but Tyler had insisted we needed a date night. So I got someone to cover my shift. I called him and he suggested we go to dinner at the Mexican restaurant we frequented when we took a biology class together. However, first he told me he had to finish up a paper and I needed to meet him at Transy. When I pulled into the commuter parking lot, I noticed Tyler wasn’t in his car so I called him. He told me he was printing out his paper and to meet him out by the library so we could walk together.

I started my short trek across campus and when I got to the library I found Tyler sitting underneath “The Kissing Tree”. I took my seat next to him and we started talking, just about normal stuff at first like how our days had been, and then he kissed me. He slipped down on to one knee, took my hand, and asked if I would spend the rest of my life with him. It all went by so fast! I’m pretty sure what happened next was me squealing and saying “oh my gosh” a bunch of times before finally saying yes. I had to stop myself from pulling the ring right out of the box myself I was so excited. We will be married in May at the chapel in Old Morrison at Transylvania University.
